I was designing a switching power supply. But then I decided to focus on designing a smaller version. That led me to the LM25088 device from National. I had previously wanted a general purpose design was would be good up to more than 48volts. National also has a LM5088 which has an input range of 50 volts. So maybe this will meet that requirement as well. Anyway, I have started going through the design example and creating a spreadsheet so that I can easily create any design by changing the input parameters.
This is the first time I have designed a switching power supply and I am very excited about doing this. I ordered a few evaluation boards, and I probably ordered more than I needed. But I was pretty unsure of how to proceed. Now I am choosing a totally different design, but this will be a good experiment. Although I have ordered a few parts so that I can make some changes to a Evaluation board so that it outputs the correct voltage and current.
